The Committee to Restore Dealer Rights (CRDR) represents America’s hometown automobile dealerships who were either terminated by GM through “wind down” agreements or rejected by Chrysler. Chrysler closed 789, GM announced 1323, and anticipates approximately another 1277 according to their approved viability plan.
It is co-chaired by Jack Fitzgerald, owner of Fitzgerald Auto Malls in three states, Alan Spitzer, owner of Spitzer Auto Group in Ohio, and Tammy Darvish, vice president of DARCARS in Maryland and Washington Director of the National Automobile Dealers Association.
The Committee was formed in the wake of the Chrysler and GM bankruptcies to protect the rights of thousands of terminated auto dealerships and the customers and communities they serve since they were stripped of their membership at NADA when their franchises were terminated or “wind-down” agreements were sent. No other group represents the interests of rejected/terminated dealers other than CRDR.
The Committee’s primary current focus is on securing passage of the bipartisan Automobile Dealer Economic Rights Restoration Act of 2009 HR2743/S1304, which presently carries more than 281 Congressional cosponsors in the House and 43 in the Senate.
